Uncommon Concerts & Conversations s3
The Event
We’re crossing the bridge! We have four concerts this year, two in Aliquippa at Uncommon Grounds Cafe, and two in Ambridge. All events will have food offerings, and music begins at 7 p.m. Concerts are free and open to the public. Thank you to the Pittsburgh Foundation and Greater Pittsburgh YWCA for making these concerts possible.
This series is a love letter to our communities, and you are invited!
The Artists
Uncommon Worship with Keea Dorsey and Jason Washington, Sr. - (June 28, 2024)
We are pulling talent right from Aliquippa for a night of worship music! Join Keea and Jason for favorites from local churches.
Voces Solis: Americana - (July 19, 2024)
Our favorite choir is back! Voces Solis has performed at the Gospel Tabernacle and Uncommon Grounds during prior seasons, but this year, they’ll perform at Trinity Chapel, a Trinity School for Ministry site (1123 Merchant Street, Ambridge)
Voces Solis is a premier chamber choir who performs a diverse and challenging repertoire of choral works. The choir is composed of professional musicians, music educators, and experienced choristers. Voces Solis is an avid collaborator with other arts organizations throughout the Pittsburgh area.
Kenny Sharp and Brown Liquor Music returns! - (August 2, 2024)
Nashville’s Kenny Sharp, a Genesis Collective favorite, is back for his third performance with us. This time, Kenny and his crew are up for an outdoor concert at P.J. Caul Park in Ambridge.
Kenny loves to weave a tale, and he combines his storytelling with raw, emotional vocals. You can find Kenny’s debut LP entitled Brown Liquor Music. On it, you’ll hear his roots in sould and R&B, as well as rap, hip hop, pop, and country.
Janine Gilbert-Carter - (August 16, 2024)
Aliquippa native Janine Gilbert-Carter, an accomplished and acclaimed jazz singer, brings her soulful interpretations home. A true artist, Ms. Carter began her musical journey in an Aliquippa church choir and moved to the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh and to musical theater. A festival and venue performer, Ms. Carter is award-winning and highly sought-after. The Genesis Collective is thrilled to welcome this icon home to Uncommon Grounds Cafe.
