Your community is full of stories, and you are the person to tell them.
Welcome to the launch of The Genesis Collective Media Institute! We are looking for people who want to tell stories of their communities through art and media (film, photography, podcasting, radio storytelling, painting). What do you want to celebrate in your town or city? What is a problem that should be addressed? What do people not know but you wish they did? Who are the people who should be highlighted, celebrated, or helped?
Stories have to be told or they die, and when they die, we can't remember who we are or why we're here.

At TGCMI, you will be the storyteller as you work to complete and exhibit your piece. You will create and learn, over a period of eight weeks, best practices in storytelling, loving your subject through art, and receive technical training and mentorship with an artist in your field. Your instructors are experts in their fields, and we all have a lot to learn from each other!
Whether you are new to the craft and have no equipment, or have been producing artistic storytelling for years, we invite you to apply to be part of the first cohort, beginning in September 2022.
We want to get to know you and your idea. Whether you have years of experience as a storyteller or technician, or if you have an idea and want to learn how to make art around it, apply here!
